Question

I am going to order a camaro 2ss with an automatic trans.(L99) and really like the dual mode exhaust but can not live with stick. Any known brands that sell dual mode for automatic and why couldn't this exhaust be used on an automatic? Kinda strange to me

I'd imagine the reason the dual mode exhaust can't be ordered with the L99 Auto is because of the AFM. Then again, I'm not sure how the AFM in the new LT1 is different or if dual mode exhaust will be available with the 6th gen Camaro. I guess we'll see when full details on the C7 come out.

If you put dual mode on an automatic it will sound like crap when AFM kicks in as will most aftermarket exhausts. You need to get rid of AFM via the range device or a tune to enjoy an aftermarket exhaust. If you don't know what AFM is do a search, there are tons of threads.

yea look into getting range technology to disable AFM (active fuel management) it's only 200 bucks. Can't wait to get mine.

Range technology

Does the range technology decrease your mpg and if so by how much?

So far most have found that it actually increases mpg's slightly.

Thumbs up Range ACM Disabling Device

Ordered mine yesterday. Should have it by Monday at the latest. I'll Post the results. With a 90 day warranty how could it hurt??! From what I've read, it's everything it says it is. I'll let you know next week!

I have a Range on my Envoy 5.3. No noticeable difference in mileage there. Today is the last day for the Camaro5 discount on the Range.
