My 2011 v6/RS had really weak AC. My ten year old (Ford) truck would still freeze you out and never had a recharge but the Camaro never really got cold. My 2010 SS I just picked up is finally better than my truck! I thought maybe the v6 had a smaller compressor or something because it is night and day difference from my 2011 RS to my 2010 2SS. Either that or I thought that mabye the AC knob might be defective as in when fully turned to the coldest position it didn't really turn the AC fully on.

When it comes to "climate" control, I do wish the camaro had climate controls to automatically set the temperature, instead of just fan speed and the cold/hot temp.

Most climate controls in a modern car you set the temp and forget it.

In the summer heat I am constantly adjusting the thing

Tx here too and I think mine works just fine. Now that you put it in my head I'm sure it won't feel as cold now. :(

This. My fan speed stays on 2 all the time, (unless its like super duper hot). I do just fine staying cool in the Texas Heat.

The 2014's blast cold air. I've never had to go over 4 or 5 for more than a couple minutes in 85-100 degrees with humidity in NJ. It's a disgusting heat and the AC more than makes up for it.

Of course, it's a brand new car, so there's that to consider.

It was 114 here yesterday, and I was driving all over town in my 2011, and the AC was real cold with the dial set at 2. If the car has been baking out in the sun, and you are doing mostly city driving the AC will have to work a lot harder, but then I just turn up the dial until I get cold.

I have a 2011 and live in Texas. I haven't had any issues with my AC. In fact I regularly have to dial it down because it gets so cold.

No issues with mine....

I have dark tint on the windows. I bet those of us with dark tint have no issues. Makes a big differance.

Central California so it gets pretty hot here. Had two straight weeks of about 105. A/C on my 2011 V6 works wonderfully. No aftermarket tinting or anything like that. Have to turn it down after a few minutes once I cool down from the outside temperature.

Which is why I finally had mine tinted this Spring. It helps but it's not the fix. Also brings up teh 2SS/2LT vs 1, the black leather isn't helping. It's what I wanted, but I also expected the A/C to overcome the heat.

Since I don't see the change, decided to compare output temps between the truck & car both from the cool & the heat, w/ same thermometer. So far truck is 39* & 40*

Uh yea, looks like nobody has problems from 2012 on.

Have they looked inside the dash? One of my soldiers just went throught his and the leak was inside the dash somewhere.

comparison

So I did a comparison, both days ~ 100* outside, both checked in the early am & pm, and both parked in the sun all day.

Truck 39* am, inside pm 103* and blowing 40*
car 40* am, inside pm 135* , blowing 41-42*

Surprised. Got to be the black leather. Even in the morning it still won't really freeze me out like the truck, but with the new tint I can live with it.
