Whatever fits your goals best. Procharger is a supercharger, just a brand. Like saying do I buy NOS or NX nitrous kit, both n2o brands.
What do you want out of the car? Bling? HP? Street race? Drag race? Adaptability? Underhood looks?

Yes, and so a whipple, lysholm, whipple, kennebell, vortech, paxton, powerdyne, etc. And those are just brand names. A D1SC is different than a F1A, F1R, F1X, P1SC, F2. They are all prochargers. Vortech makes Si-trims, T, Ti, Ysi, JT, etc. Paxton, 1200, 1500, 2000, 2200, 2200R, 2500. Whipple 2.9, 3.6, etc. They are all superchargers and depending on your application one maybe perfect or it may suck.
Same goes for turbos, there is hundreds of thousands of combos for them.

Beauty of a turbo car is that if you drive it like normal without a heavy foot. A car will drive like its stock, due to not being an added pulley on the front that is constant drawing power or creating boost. But then when you want the power, you control it purely by your foot. Once my tune was dialed in, i was getting an average of 25mpg city/highway combined and even saw 28.9 mph on the expressway cruising at 75mph. plus they are great for the track ;-)

Most cost effective way would be n2o to hit 550rwhp.
What is your end goal? Where do you want to be in 3-4 years when the car is done. Are you going to be happy with 550rwhp forever or will you want 650 next year? This will steer you in different directions.

You opened Pandora's box.
when i'm helping customers pick out a kit i use these simple rules. "budget minded"- Do a set of headers and a nice cam. It's an excellent pick up in tq and hp for under 5k installed. do the work yourself and it's less than $2400 toll way terror- go turbo or vortech sc. lots of power on the top end. these kits will get you a good Mph# on your quarter mile print out. around town monster- go for a magnison, whipple, ect.. you can't beat a blower from stoplight to stoplight. lots of amazing low end tq. |

Oh man, not again. These threads are becoming like herpes.
Now I understand why people get pissed about no one using the search button. There's more information on this subject than you'll know what to do with. |
