Can't decide on what mod

I have a completely stock 2011 SS M6 and can't wait to mod it so I'm going into my rainy day fund to buy parts. I'm planning on buying a Borla S-type catback exhaust but wanted to know if you guys think I should maybe go for the CAI first or possibly headers? I only have money for one. What would make a more noticeable difference and a better choice for my first mod?

You will get more gains out of headers. Better sound and more hp

What is your budget? Do you care about warranty? What emmisions laws do you have to follow if any?

In that case, no headers :\ Not many noticable difference options with warranty in the way. CAI intakes have shown up to 18hp on a stock config. Maybe you can have the dealership install 3.91 gears? You would definitely feel those.

Headers and warranties get dicey. Not tuning them should keep your warranty in tact. Should is not guaranteed. If you don't want to void your warranty I'm not the guy to take advice from. Sorry. Everything I know about voids your warranty

I've been doing alot of research but haven't looked into gears. If I get different gears that give me more power won't that decrease my MPG? Also the other reason I'm leaning towards the exhaust rather then the CAI is that nice sound

Yeah I would like to wait another year before I do any tuning so I guess headers is out of the equation. I appreciate the help though!

Depends on your daily driving route...If you do mostly city driving, the smaller gears can actually help to improve mpg. If you do more highway driving then smaller gears hurt mpg. Also, smaller gears will hurt dyno numbers slightly which is irrelevant, because they use torque multiplication to lay down more torque to the wheels. This cannot be read on a dyno, but it is there and anyone who has done gears will agree. Just an idea, glad to help

well I would do an exhaust first because its not the most hp increase but its the most noticeable mod by giving your car an aggressive sound and growl(depending on brand) and to tell you the truth with $1200 you can get a nice exhaust and a CAI, and then save money later for headers.

Budget is $1200? Easy. High Flows, CAI, and Axle back!

Out of all the exhausts I've researched and looked at I liked the Borla the best price I've seen for it is 1085.
