Here's a link to the PShop thread. Brunogadget does great work as you can see. I'm sure he'd be happy to see others like what he's done, and have request for modifying it. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...=49957&page=14

Hmmmmm Z/28 as a daily driver.
A couple of thoughts on that. First, the Z/28 would be a lot like driving a Z06 without MR. That is a hard driving Son of a B*****. If your daily drive is primarily awesome curving roads with no stop signs and no cops it would be a great way to start your day (probably better than a cup of coffee) and a an even better way to end it. BUTTTTTTTTT if you have a lot of stop and go and traffic and worn out roads then you are simply getting by knowing what you are driving but not being able to enjoy it in the least. On a several occasions Mrs. Number 3 and I were able to take Z06s on trips to Northern Michigan where there are some great roads. But simply the 4 hour drive on I75 was brutal. Loud and harsh is the best explanation. On the last Z06 trip, I snagged a Z06 with MR for a trip to Cleveland to the Rock and Roll museum and even that was a hard 3 hour plus drive. And that trip didn't have the reward of great driving roads. It lead to downtown Cleveland (a nice town mind you just no curves). I liken this to the last motorcycle I owned (sold last year to my bro in law with a buy back clause) which was a 1996 Ducati 916. A street legal race bike in it's day. Arguably the Z/28 of motorcycles. Even with a bar back kit I was holding a push up for every mile I rode. I used to ride it around the block in the evenings just to experience the sound and feel of it. But whenever I used it as daily transportation, I was just worn out from the drive and the traffic. So IMHO, making a track oriented let alone a track specific car like the Z/28 a DD would simply be for the badge on honor you would have on your sleeve................unless you have that mythical race track for your commute.

Oh and as for that C7 pricing? Simply getting the aluminium frame for $2300 is a steal. Everything else is frosting a cake that probably doesn't need frosting.
Better interior by far, better seats by far (need to sit in them to be sure) another refinement phase in ride and handling should make this great car. Now I've heard if you option one up you get over $70,000 which is a boat load of cash for sure. But it make me think my dream of getting a C6 or C6 Z06 (because I worked on both) would simply be a dissapointment compared to either the C7. Just another example of Chevy realizing what Chevy is....great value.

Like I've said, I'd be willing to bet a lot of Z/28s change hands a year or so after they first hit dealer lots. I don't think a lot of people quite understand that it's a street-legal race car and not much more.
And the C7 3LT Z51 Coupe I want comes in at over $75k. Until I found the Preferred Pricing schedule. $68,699. Thanks for working for GM Dad!

We have a couple of 305/30/19 Supercar equipped 5th Gens running 12kg (670 lb) coils front and rear. We tried 14kg almost 800 lb but felt we didn't have enough tire. Our bars are BIG at 27 / 32mm which is an indirect way of increasing spring rate. The ride is better than expected. It isn't good, but it isn't brutal lowered filled with rock hard urethane banging and bouncing race car on the street 4th Gen. #3 makes very valid points about the C6 Z06. He also was driving on possibly the worst roads in the USA. Detroit, Chicago, Philly and NYC are the worst. When you leave Indiana and hit Michigan coming from Chicago through Indiana or Decatur to Detroit your ride goes from enjoyable to Thunk, thunk, thunk, thunk, BANG, thunk, thunk BANG, thunk, thunk, thunk, thunk at every freeze thaw joint and crater like pot hole. The same car in 46 other states can surprise you.

I've driven on Michigan roads, ouch! Hear in N.GA. the roads are like silk in comparison. Oh and there are very few straight roads anywhere to be found. But I agree the Z/28 is a toy more than a car, but an awesome toy it is!

So they now have an aluminum trunk lid for the SS and up (Cool!). The question is how much weight will that save?

What was the old one made out of? I really wonder how much of a difference the aero improvements for 2014 will make on the 1LE. Probably can't tell a difference unless you're at Talledaga.

Steel. Speaking of aero, the rockers are different too. "Bang for the buck", buy a 2014 1LE with NPP and Recaros add; 2013 ZL1 front brakes, hood, rear fascia/diffuser/lights, and a Z/28 front splitter & rear spoiler. Maybe even Pedders Supers.

The ZL1 brakes are a must when the original set wears out and the LS7 head and cam package is on the list once she's paid off. Got to get it first though as the Recaros are rumored to take a while to make their way into the 2014s. Now I know how the 2012 ZL1 owners felt............... Ok, maybe it's not quite that bad yet.
