Are you dissapointed with your MPG?

Were you dissapointed with the MPG of your current car? What modifications have you done to increase MPG, and did it work?

I was dissapointed with the MPG of the Jeep Liberty my wife has, so this week I got a CAI and Installed, This weekend we are going to take a little trip to see if it has done any good.
Two weeks ago we took a trip and averaged 21.4 MPG mostly highway driving. this weekend we are taking another trip and it should be about the same ammount of highway driving along the same interstate. We will then compare the results with the before figure.
I will let you know my results.

If you have done anything to increase your MPG post here your mods and what if any increase you got from it.

I own a RX8, in the city I get 19mpg avg (worst of all time 18.6mpg, new EPA be damned) and the best all time in highway is 23.8mpg but the disappointing part is the avg of 22.5mpg I get on the highway (DANG YOU EPA!!!).

So, yes I'm also disappointed in my EPA and that's the reason why my next car has to be better than my RX8.

The best thing for fuel economy for me is, two types of control, cruise control and FOOT control...lol.

What I'd like to know also is, has anyone tested those Pulstar spark plugs? If you see the test they have done they "seem" to be a great upgrade but I don't know enough or hear enough to know one way or the other.

Well I hate to say it but I just got back and my MPG actually went DOWN...I got just under 20 MPG. Using the cruise just as before, running the same speeds... Guess I will go back to the OEM setup.

I'm happy with fuel economy of my Dodge. Back under the old standards, it was rated at 20/28. Nowadays it gets about 22 in the city. I used to get 31 on the highway, but I changed out the original tires for some Bridgestone Potenzas...they make the car handle much better, but really cut down on highway mileage...probably down around 27. City mileage didn't seem to be affected, though.

I see you are from Louisville, I assume that is Louisville Ky. I grew up in Valley Station.

Hey...I'm happy with what I get. I can drive down to Corpus and back and still have a lil' in the tank.

So, .....about 340 miles on a 14 gallon tank. There's some gas left over when I get back....so????? 25 mpg's? That's not bad for me. Oh...and I get on it a few times on the drive. So, I might be able to hit 26.

I guess I'm happy. I get 21-22mpg on the highway and about 17-18mpg highway/city combined. Considerably less if I have my foot in it.

Mines pretty good on the freeway. I've added a K&N air and oil filter, running 5w30 royal purple full synthetic and i can get roughly 375 miles, probably more since i tend to full up when i get to about a quarter tank. I should be able to up that with new exhaust, E3 plugs and new wires and a general tune up.

My gas mileage stinks.. I've added a K&N filter to my Z71, has not helped. But most of my driving is in town. I get around 15 mpg

I'd say I'm happy with it. My Saab isn't supposed to get better then 23 MPG and yet I've gotten it up to 30 mpg with ease. But I seldom keep that since I like to punch it a bit.
