SuperCharger Durability

I have a L99 engine and am seriously considering putting a Magnusion SuperCharger on it.I don't know alot about superchargers and there durability.I want to do some High Performance upgrades, but don't want to shorten my engines life so much.Is there alot of potential headaches down the road if I install a SuperCharger?

Not really as long as you keep to reasonable levels of boost.

looks like 6psi has become the standard safe level for our engines.

Yep I have customers with trucks that tow with a Magna Charger......One of them has 265,000 miles on the truck and blower.

What other mods are required to put a magna blower on? Has anyone put the blower on and nothing else? What kind of gains did you get?

thanks
Dean

well for an l99 it may involve more. I believe hennessy is putting one on an L99 so they would know more then anyone.

It would probably involve deleting the Active fuel management, deleting/turning the transmission, and maybe throwing on a stall converter. The stall converter may not be needed tho after a super charger.

You can't go wrong with a MagnaCharger. I have had blowers on half my vehicles. If you don't push them beyond what they tell you, they will last forever. Listen to what Brian (BlownChevy) says. He is the Mag Man...

you cant go wrong with a magnacharger, i have one on my 5.3 sierra since '03, and my escalade 6.2 for over a year and 24k, it rocks and its reliable. just took delivery of my 2ss/rs and will have my maggie on soon. best product and customer support on the market by far.

It sounds like it won't be necessary to delete the AFM on L99s, from other threads (and forums) that I've read, at least regarding the Magnuson units. It seems to me that if you obtain a complete kit for your particular car, you should be fine for a long time
