Smile New 2SS owner! A few questions...

Hi everyone. I just purchased a brand new black 2SS with the RS package last night. I've never owned a muscle car in my life, so the past day has been quite an experience. I actually look forward to driving again! Coming from a 2.5L Altima coupe this was a huge upgrade.

I do have a few quick questions:
  1. The OnStar nav is neat, but I would like to know what options there are as far as third-party head units with nav. I realize I could get a Garmin, but I like the clean look of a built-in solution.
  2. Some of my buttons seem to be a little finicky... Sometimes the windows don't express roll up/down even though I press them all the way down/pull all the way up. Also, does the sunroof not express close? It feels like it has that express "click", but it stops whenever I let off the switch. Can this be disabled/enabled with a button combination?
  3. Has anyone had a good experience black-chroming the wheels? I love the blacked-out look, but I haven't been able to find a quality custom shop that does it.
  4. Are there any "hidden" features (like possibly the express window settings) that would be good to know?

Thank you everyone!

Ryan

First off. Congrats on the new ride!!! Your gonna love it!
The sunroof does not express close. Think it's a safety thing.
For the side windows I find if you hold the buttons too long, instead of quickly engage and releasing them, they will not express up/down. And as you know, barely press them for manual control.

The sunroof doesn't express close so that stupid people don't lose their fingers

When we rented the 1LT, we had an issue with the passenger window- it randomly quit responding to the either window control. After we stopped and shut the car off it worked again Weird glitch...

And CONGRATS dude!

You may want to swap those polished wheels for the RS wheels (and some cash) if you're going to have them coated anyway - just a suggestion. There may be a member who would wants polished wheels.

Congratulations on your car!

Great thinking. I thought that too. The polish was listed at $470... Maybe I can get that credited towards a black chrome job.

nice ride, alot better than the nissan...you will enjoy every moment...just take good care of it, don't park it in a wal mart (many threads on this), there is a lot of Camaro5 members with tons of information, just google your question adding 2010 camaro to your question and everytime Camaro5 forum will pop up. Enjoy the ride

Good choice!! I ordered the same. As for guys talking about a credit because it's part of the RS package... sounds like were just going to have to eat the cost?
