my dealer just received the invoice for my 1LT and a constraint was placed on the order for the RS package.
why would Chevy accept the order than change it without any notice to me?

I seriously hope this is a mistake. If everyone with an RS package is on constraint, not much is going to be built.

Sounds to me like a dealer making excuses for ordering the wrong thing.

Constraints keep cars from being built or accepted, making them delayed. If it is invoiced, then it is built. If they have "your" car coming except non-RS, then it was ordered wrong or they chose to order it differently. Or maybe it is the wrong car (i.e., not yours). GM does NOT just build cars that don't match orders.

Here's another thought...there was discussion here earlier in summer about the RS package "dropping off" orders when the dealer made another unrelated change. Maybe that's what happened. If you car was one held up to add the "Parking Assist", maybe when the order was edited to clear the system the RS got dropped off. Just a thought...

Just ordered 4 Camaro's Saturday with RS package.. No constraint we know off.

i do remember asking about the backup assist when it came available - maybe that is what happened to the RS package?

This is probably what happened, either you or your dealer made a change to the order once it was in the system, then the dealer neglected to make sure the RS option didn't drop off like is did for so many before.

No constraint shown.
