Need advice - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

So here it is.. My friend wants to borrow the camaro on Saturday from 9am-6pm to go on a date with a girl. Hes probably only going to put about 20-30 miles on it and is offering me $100 plus a $2000 deposit just incase. He has the money and isn't crazy, the car will be parked for about 70% of the time. What would you do ?

Oh, the thoughts of what's going to happen in that car while it's parked (only $2,000 eh?). Why does he need your car? Is he trying to put on a front for this girl?

Also, since he is phoney enough to try to pull this on the girl, don't you think he might try to "show off" a little? Maybe race it? maybe try to impress the young lady?

This is how it all starts my friend....with a simple question...."hey buddy, can I borrow your car?"

hes not use to driving a camaro so the thought of taking a corner a little tight could mess your wheels up. just saying lol

Don't do it, make him put down a 50,000 deposit. If he has 2 G's have him go rent a car. Next thing you know, he was in an accident and he is sorry and you are out of a car. Or stains in the back seat.

Here's what happened to me years ago: Friend borrows my RX7 w/ his girlfriend. He picked it up at my office. About 30 minutes after he left one of the VP's drops by and says "Man, that was some burn out your car did out of the parking lot." (He was being nice but he thought it was me & was basically warning me to watch it.)

After my best friend denied it but later his GF confirmed it, we weren't friends too much longer...

For that money let him go rent one. I would not let anyone I know drive my Camaro without me riding shotgun. I even check mileage before it goes into the shop for an oil change and I wait right there while they do it.
The 3 people I love most in this world and have trusted vehicles with have all brought my rig back with a new dent and the last one who borrowed it got t-boned by a lady running a stop sign. No one paid me for the damages done.
I say do not loan out the Camaro.
