GM, put a bad tatste in my mouth

Guys I am put-out! I drive a 2SS and On the 24th of Feb. my Babe rolled into a stationary object. The vehicle was parked in a location away from other vehicles (common practice amongst all Camaro5 owners) with the vic locted secured and the parking brake engaged. When I was in the PSG meeting my soldiers came running informing me "that some one has your ride". I broke contact from the TST meeting to find my ride had rolled into a fence. With my fellow SMs all about we tookd pics of all around the scene. MPs were called, insurence, chevy, GM and sworn statements made. Four days later GM called me to Link up at a selected chevy dealer. the GM guy said it won't take long... half of the day later and this investigator pitching his finding...he said, "sorry"....the parking brake works you just have to pull it all the way up. with the parking brake all the way up and of course some bleeding from my fourth point of contact.. it takes 13 clicks... when i engaged the P-brake it was engaged at 11 clicks. So I will have to fix something that I did not do... something that I was informed or thought would be covered by GM (as was pitched to me in the purchace)... you know a mechanical reason, like wow!
This is my fourth Camaro and being a die hard chevy fan.... well the way that GM is treating me on this insident...because of this I wont be buying from GM again. Youd think they support or help GM fans out; In addition... while the GM yahoos were assessing my vic they scratched my driver door. Sh.t! and I was going to look into purchaseing another Camaro. "Treat others like you want to be treated".... they need to take a secound look at them selves and not talk the talk if they cant walk the walk... 100% and then some. Supporting their customers horse-sh.t! only if you are like a pac of higher stature in the goverment or pay scale. Common folk... vets like me... you fought for our country, and our way of life... "Sorry".

Sorry to hear. The parking brake on these cars really needs to be shortened. I know I really have to yank mine up to get it to engage.

Sorry about the damage, but let me understand, you're blaming GM because the emergency brake wasn't properly engaged?? Wow thats a stretch.
I applaud and glad about your sevice to our country and all but hey, I think you're off base here.
BTW if they dinged or scatched your door, they owe you.

Parking in neutral is never a good idea! GM has no plan that covers that.

I used to park my car out of gear with only the parking brakes engaged. It rolled down a hill once. Never again!

With all the acronyms, it sounds as if you are in the military.

Clearly they have not yelled your ears off enough and taught you about personal responsibility. When you leave your vehicle, you secure it. You pull the brake and make sure it's set, you put it in gear, turn your wheels to a curb if you need to, get out, lock up the doors and windows. EVERY TIME. Or else something will go wrong, someone will mess with your shit, etc.

Think about how you were taught how to handle a weapon. If the parking break was a safety on a gun, do you think you'd pay a little more attention to whether or not it was engaged?

Lesson learned....lick your wounds, fix up the car, and move on.

Never park in neutral. It was a pricey lesson but now you know. Enjoy the Camaro. Thanks for your service.

Sorry about your car and all...but putting it in gear is something you should be doing. And, I've not pulled the parking brake all the way up, but always check to make sure the car isn't rolling and won't roll (thus, putting in gear) before I leave the car.

Any reason you don't put it in gear?
