3.4 pulley without meth safe?

I was just wondering what you guys think about running a 3.4 pulley on a maggie without meth? If you tune safely would it be ok? Just worried about the coating on the rotors with the meth that I've been hearing about on here. I would prefer to run meth but not if it's going to screw up my blower. Any advice will be appreciated or any other solutions. I am currently running a 3.6 pulley, ADM stage 2 cam, and Stainless Works headers and full exhaust LS3. Thanks guys for the help and info.

I'd be careful. You're are on the boderline with running out of fuel so either go with meth or a fuel upgrade i.e. bap or new pump etc.

In that case I think you're gd to go, but don't quote me. As long as you have the fuel then you should be fine. In your case the meth would be added insurance if you choose to use it, doesn't seem like you are. Maybe just ask Ted or even Andy and they can give you the concrete answer. Gd luck!

How much boost and what are your IAT's now? What are your power goals? If you can get away without it, I wouldn't fool with it. One less thing to have to keep track of. I'm at 8.5psi and IAT's run a max of 35 to 40 degrees over ambient. RWHP is well over 650. I don't have meth and don't plan on getting it. My LS3 has been running that way for about a year and a half and about 15K miles.

Meth was not recommended by maggie rep for their s/c! Sounds liek you should have the fuel to support it with the adm setup however belt slippage might be another story which requires an upgrade a pretty price.

Thanks for all the info guys. Don't know what my IATs are yet not been to the dyno(was waiting to see about the meth) but my goal is 600 RWHP. I am also looking into the 8 rib system as well.

With the fuel system, you'll be fine .. I'm only running a BAP and I have the 3.4 pulley and only his stage 1 cam ..

You can run a 3.4 with a cam on 93 octane pump gas but not without a cam, the boost would be too high for pump gas.

Hope this helps.

Ted.

With the list of mods you have. You're good to go with the smaller pulley. However I think you'll find out you'll get belt slippage in higher RPM. You'll at the very least need to source a smaller belt for that pulley.

I appreciate all of you for the good info and replies. I may go ahead a swap the 3.6 for the 3.4 now. Just trying to research before hand and tune one time. Probably upgrade to an 8rib or cog drive also when funds are replenished. Where do you get your pulleys from? Thanks again to all of you!!!

Are you maxed out tune wise on the 3.6" pulley? Sometimes if the car likes a few more degree's timing you might get a good gain.
