GM Performance Exhaust upgrade?

Anyone know how much of sound difference it makes on the L99?

I noticed GM also has two of these on their site for two different prices.

Is it worth it?

Sorry im pretty sure this has been talked about but I cant find it.

Thanks guys and gals

I just talked to my dealer today and they wanted $1200 installed for the axle-back exhaust upgrade.

I just finished talking to a Borla exhaust installer/dealer- they will install the entire catback exhaust system for $1500. (Part # 140280).

Sold. Waiting for a appointment call back now.

You might as well pay a tad more and just get a set of American Racing Headers installed and keep the stock catback. It sounds AWESOME IMO.

Well, anyone who is paying $1200 for the GMPP exhaust is getting taken to the cleaners. It's $800 at best installed... I know, I have it. As for the sound, I'd love to know who said it sounded like stock... they're smokin some good stuff. Go to the post http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30980
It's my car and I think you'll agree it's not stock. Heck, just the 4.5" double walled tips alone are worth a couple hundred bucks. As far as SLP goes... the axleback is nothing more than a piece of pipe (no baffles) with hangers... Sounds good at start-up but at cruise, well, if you like drone you'll love it... not really worth $450 IMO. I'm not selling GM stuff but you should know the real deal before you make a decision.

Have the GMPP exhuast, paid $810 at dealer but $150 to install. I have a 2SSRS with the L99, had it installed at the place i had it dyno tuned for both $450. Sounds good but not to loud, had it done at 600 miles drivers side stock tin can or muffler was half full of water. Looks and sounds much better and now after two oil changes and a 2700 mile trip it runs like a raped ape.

Imagine so. Any engine that breathes better is going to go up in power but I would say it's negligible. But I LOVE the sound.
