Need Help with Kenne Bell Liquid Cool SC
I am tossing up the idea to install the KB 3.6 on my ZR1. Does anyone with a camoaro SS live close to Maryland where I could get some measurements?
Or maybe send me some measurements? I am concerned if this blower will clear the cowl or not. |

The Mammoth Intake behind the Blower does rest up against the cowl. You may need to bend the sheet metal for some additional clearance. But no cutting is required. The ZL1 Scoop / insert will need to be modified, but the stock ZL1 hood w/o the insert will close/clear most pulleys.

He said zr1 not zl1. I don't think there is any way it is fitting on a vette.

If there's will there's a way, but in this case you'd need a huge cowl hood, or a cutout that it could come up through the hood to fit one; which would look pretty damn cool.

It would be more than a cowl hood, it would be cutting the whole cowl/wipers/etc out and maybe notching the glass on the windshield.

I didn't know that ZR1's cowl was that tight on the motor, that pretty much ruins the plan, at least in my book it would.

I had a 2.8L on my 99 C5. Biggest pain in the A$$ mod I've ever done, and I've got one hell of a resume. Yes, they make power and are built well, but if you ever need to change plugs or remove valve cover for some remote reason, get out your tools for the day.
I now have an SLP TVS2300 I installed in 5 hours with no hose or wire cutting/splicing. Absolutely love this blower. Fits amazing and everything around the motor is easy to get to without removing the head unit. I know the TVS is not for your application, but there are other big liter blowers for making more power and still make your life simpler. |

Same here. Hindsight being 20/20, the new Maggy/SLP design or Whipple would be my choice for a top mount design. Also, the mammoth intake blocks the AC fitting for recharge. From another KB 2.8LC owner that looked for a possible vacuum/intake leak, changed injectors 1-1/2 years later, and modified the driver-side valve cover... Still runs great and nice subtle whine up front. |

I can not imagine that install is possible at all. Here is the clearance between my eforce and cowl, (about enough to slip a piece of paper through) and I believe the eforce is much lower.

noway that thing would fit, you could fit a whipple 2.9 with a custom hood (which look ugly on Corvettes) and still not make SOO much more power compared to the stock blower.
Is your stock ZR1 maxed out?

I have maxed it out and it is not happy so I have the 2.6 upper and 14% lower pulley.

Twin turbo setup feeding the 2.3 FTW.
Instant throttle response and insane topend. |

The supercharger can't handle the added pressure, we've been blowing superchargers up in the diesel world for a while when trying to use turbos before it.
