Make sure you set it far back enough so you do not have to cut into the bracing on the underside front of the hood. This would work best with our COPO style hood, don't remember what style underside you got

I did set it back to miss the front bracing. I have the ram air hood hood but since I'm turboed I didn't get its benefits. I had to cut slightly into the channel that funnels air, however, the insert blocks it for for the most part and doesn't look weird. I'll post some pics after I make the brackets to hold it in place.

I thought of selling mine and getting the COPO cowl hood but I'd be that much further behind moneywise.

Front corners seem to be sticking up just a bit... I'll work on it later. I apologize for not being a photographer.

Looks like you did a good job!

Our hoods have a bit more of a V'eed peak to them than the standard hood. This might account for the corners wanting to be up a bit

THAT'S Great KaBoom!! I see you installed the side strips of aluminum along the sides of the hole, from front to back, tucked under the existing hood metal. I also noticed the Toilet bolts! Wing nuts will help a lot with easy on/off operation and on mine the drip tray presses against the hood liner and helps hold it up.

Good eye Eddiefuzz!

Your idea of the toilet bolts worked great! It allows the rain tray to be removed and still have the vent secured tightly against the hood. I may go back and paint the alum strips black so they don't show so much with the rain tray removed. We'll see.

I'll be at the Fontana Speedway on November 9th so I can test this mod at 140+mph speeds!
