Best one today is probably the Vararm, followed closely by many of the others. It becomes a personal choice, including what you plan to do with your underhood look.

For me at the time the INJEN was at the top of the list and the Vararam was not yet on the market.

I made it work for me.
How did you paint the cai tube red? Looks good

Thank - you, however it is not red, it is IOM. The red look comes from the fact that IOM is difficult to photo in certain light.

I bought a rattle can of IOM from a company on line.

The Vararam is going to give you the best gains. It is a bit tricky to install but pretty much anyone can do it with varying time requirements. It's not exactly beautiful either and it does require more frequent maintenance than other intakes. But if you care mostly about performance, there is no better intake.

If you want gains but looks are a bit more important than you, then I'd get the CAI, the one that comes with the see through box. Imo none of the other intakes come close to looking as good.

A third runner up us Injen's intake. It seems to give nice gains but it has some potential to hydro lock your car. You might need to go back to stock in the winter with that one.

Good luck! Most are better than the stock excuse for an intake.

Thanks to anyone who voted, we appreciate it! Considering that our intake got more votes than the "other" category which includes all other brands other than the 2 listed, I feel pretty good about that!

We will keep working hard to provide you with the highest quality CAI's and best customer service possible! Thanks

Has anyone noticed any water getting into the vararam intake when it rains or washing the car? It seems like that would be an issue.

After installing mine, with the engine off, I literally blasted the entire grille from every angle imaginable with a ton of water. There were mere drops when I opened the hood. I've driven in strong rain with it too at high speeds and checked afterwards. Again very little water, mere drops.

Trust me I was surprised, I expected at least a little water.

guys... sorry for reviving an old thread, but i just sold my 2006 Charger SRT8 and got myself a used 2011 V6 LS. the old V8 was starting to have strange electrical issues that was turning into a money pit to fix, long story short, with the new job and shorter commute, i went with a V6 LS.

i just installed the ZL1 Spoiler myself, and front T5 splitter, and painted the lower facia. now i am looking at CAI systems.

1. now, can anyone educate me on this Vararam intake system. i can't for the life of me see where the air comes in from. all the pictures have me think the intake filter seems to be sucking air directly from top near the front tip of the hood, but once you close the hood, where the air come in from? can't drive with a hood open. again... can someone please explain it to me, thanks.

2. also, someone mentioned that some maintainance will be involved with the Vararam setup, can someone elaborate more on that? does it fall out after you drive 50K miles?

3. and last but not least, is the vararam intake system Carb exampt? i live in CA.

Go with the Roto-Fab CAI. Looks GREAT, Sounds GREAT, and I have not had any problems with it at all.

I've got teh cold Air Inductions on my Camaro. Couldn't be happier with it.
Really like the window on the top cover to see the filter element and plan on adding LED's under the lid this Spring.

The Vararam draws air in from in front of your radiator.

Simple to install, there are even some DIY's on the Forumn.
