Is your catch can hot ?
I have a RX catch can since 1 and half year, without the RX breather, and I noticed that it is quite hot even after driving 10 miles.
Have you guys noticed the same ? My cc does catch a little bit of oil but not so much. After reading several posts about the RX cc issues, I am wondering if mine is working correctly or not ? |

Yes, the can will get hot it is ingesting air and oil mist from the valve covers. The RX can does work fine, it's the check valves that have been suspect. You could replace these check valve connections and continue to use the can or just check to see if the check valves are passing flow from passenger valve cover to the vacuum side. Most work fine.
For a non-FI application there should only be an ounce or two in the can per oil change. More if you are running the car very hard.

I have the Elite cc and heat is normal.
This is how much the can picked up after a 1,200 miles run from Montréal to Woodeard Dream Cruise and back. This is a 500ml water bottle.

like it was said above you are pulling oil/ moisture from the top of the engine, normal. I remove about 60-80ml once a month mostly water.
