ADM CAI vs Cold Air Inductions CAI, both with scoop. Why?

Perhaps an ADM rep can answer this for me.

Why does the Cold Air Inductions CAI with the ADM Scoop achieve more Peak and Average HP gains then the ADM Performance CAI with its own Scoop?

I am basing my numbers from the Ted Janetty Spreadsheet.

I can only guess it is coming down to the turn in tubing from the CAI box to the throttle body.

From first glance the Cold Air Inductions one looks less aggressive versus the ADM Performance one, then again I am just guessing here.

I have the CAI intake and am debating on getting the ADM scoop. Definitely would like to hear results.

i think a few factor might come into play. first being what you said the tubing from box to throttle boddy. second would be that the CAI cold air kit is ceramic coated, which will help keep iat's down. third i also think the fact that the CAI cold air kit's box is insulate helps as well. fourth would be the filter used for each system, the CAI use a very large filter compared to the adm. both systems are well designed sytems, and in my opinion you can't go wrong with either system.

I installed the ADM this past week along with a MGW shifter this weekend.. The ADM came with the scoop. I didn't install the scoop for the reason the gains from it aren't worth losing the washer bottle. It does seem to make sense that forced air would help the cold air intake. One other thing about the ADM I was wondering about.. When I was installing the ADM I noticed the seal between the back of the CAI box and the fender was missing in my kit. I called and asked why and was told that it was found that the ADM performed better with the air gap.. It was Thur. and I had 45 min. to get to work, so I didn't have time to really question it, just finish the install and got going. I was looking at the gap between the back of the ADM box and fender this weekend (starts with no gap at bottom and increases to about 1/2 of an inch near the top). Not trying to be anal but if the car is at a stop in traffic, wouldn't that defeat the purpose of an enclosed filter? I only bring this up because I haven't heard anyone talking about removing the seal for performance reasons. Any takers on this subject?

Our data was at the track with the scoop.On the street in sitting still traffic (were HP is less of a concern) there might be a slight increase in temp.

Overall,we just did it for the gains at the track and decided to eliminate it.

As for the other comment about ours versus theirs...They have a bigger filter!

How much power difference was there?

Fit and finish on the ADM is definitely better... over time I think it will become even more apparent..

I just installed my CAI. Inc. and it was a pain to get the box to fit but it finally did go. It really looks good. I am planning on installing the ADM scoop next. The heat shrink tube did not melt very well with my heat gun. I was thinking of covering it anyway.
