Guys, i just finished installed my Mishimoto rad on my SS and I have a question. Why does the coolant keep overflowing over the neck? It sits about a good inch below the opening, and it take about a minute, then coolant just erupts all over the place.
In the past when I've flushed rads on cars you fill her up, run the motor, turn on the heater, and just wait for the coolant level to go down a bit from the lip of the opening as air is purged. Never have I seen anything so violent before. I checked all my hoses and nothing is leaking, and just to make sure I didn't cross anything up I checked their locations. That looked good too. WTF is going on? |

When you drain the radiator coolant drains out of the block. Then after refilling the thermostat is not open and has a difficult time opening as it works with hot fluid not hot air. I find the easiest way is to remove the top radiator hose from the radiator and fil it with coolant, this will fill the block and the thermostat will open much faster than screwing around trying to get the air pocket out.

Ok, thanks for the info CFD. I'm not too worried about it as I think I'm just short about a quart of fluid. I'll top it off pretty soon.

What is the weight of your product compared to the factory one? Any weight savings by going to your radiator ?
