Passenger Side Air Bag Completely stopped working

After fighting with Chevy regarding my passenger side airbag for three years not working, it has completely stopped working. I now have one week left on my warranty.

I have decided to go to the news media on this.

Its unbelievable that anything that is so repeatable (in the shop with the ODBCII connected) could be 'operating as designed'.

Its a slap in the face. If all four wheels fell off, would the car be 'operating as designed'?

Already tried BBB. Chevy stopped attempting repairs one visit shy of the mandatory number of repair attempts.

They know how to beat the system. If someone dies, I have the video saved on YouTube.

Chevy, you are wrong to promise me a new car and back out at the last moment.

You are also wrong because you know there is a problem with my car. You are not concerned with passenger safety. You are concerned with your bottom line.

what do you mean stopped working? You mean the passenger sensing system?

Have you tried a different dealer?

When a passenger sits in the seat, the Air Bag indicator does not come on. Yes, I have gone all the way to the corporate level. They have replaced sensors multiple times.

Their final statement was 'it is operating as designed'. Everyone involved knows this is not true.

I stand by my comments. Chevy does not care about the people that drive their cars. They are focused on the bottom line.

If you can prove it is not working and they refuse to fix it under warranty, they are in breach of implied warranty which is against the law.

+1. I'm no attorney, but it surprises me (kind of) they wouldn't fix it fully - else, in case of an accident, be on the hook for legal defense and monetary damages that would far outweigh the cost of the car many times over, let alone the repair.

I found one of your old threads on this topic... unless I missed it, it seems like they've replaced everything except the seat at this point? Unless they're installing bad parts, it almost has to be something wrong with the seat.

I can't help you on them covering the part but I can help you on replacing the part. I made a video as I had the same issue.

I'd like to see whether our resident Camro5.com Chevrolet Customer Service Rep. gets involved on this. Time is short.

Oh no!

Sincere apologies to hear that your passenger-side airbag is completely not working. We've interacted before regarding this concern, and I'd be more than happy to see what we can possibly do to assist you. Safety is paramount to our company and we want your vehicle to operate as designed! Message me privately at your convenience.

Kindly,

William R.
