becky,,hypothetical question,,,,if a person had a deal made on an odered car. after the deal was made, that person found out they had a gm supplier discount coming. example,, deal was for 36500,,,supplier discount was for 1077.00 bringing the total down to 35433. keeping in mind the deal on vehicle was for msrp,,and the supplier discount was based off the same msrp for the same car to the penny. does the dealer get the 1077 off the car from gm so they dont eat any money?? i would assume so but dont know. doesnt that discount given to the customer from gm get passed to the dealer. so the deal remains the same for said dealer? thx danny

Nope, the dealer does not get the difference between the supplier discount and MSRP. But, if you get the discount, make sure you talk to the dealer and make them aware that you have it, even if you've already made the deal. The car is ordered and you can always back out and go elsewhere if they won't do it. I'm not a fan of doing something like that, but as a consumer in this market, you should get what you can get. Call your salesperson all excited and tell him the great news, that you have a supplier discount, and then ask him how much off you'll get. If he goes along, you may want to ask for a new purchase agreement just so it's in writing.

Hope that helps, good luck to you and let us know how it goes.

Hi Becky,
I am going to give the dealer till the end of the week. He said I should have some movement on Thursday. I am trying to be patient but its getting ridiculous. Yesterday was 5 weeks to the day. He said he spoke to his general manager who had a conversation with the district manager from GM and he said the they were told by the end of the month there would be some progress. Is there something specific that I can ask them to see to find out the allocation situation with the car? I really appreciate your support.
