To be more precise, the advantage is in the mid range and top end for your Camaro. Those mustangs are rated at 240TQ and weigh several hundred lbs less than our Camaros, but they run out of steam quickly. A quick stop light to stop light drag, you may not put much length on him, but at the 1/4 mile, or say from a roll you should stomp him pretty good.

I run into this all the time. Some believe just because the V6 Camaro comes with 300+hp, they think it's on par with the V8, 4th gen SS.

LS1 Fbodys weighed less and actually made more HP. Many manual LS1 Fbodys dynoed well over 300 rwhp (350+hp at the crank)

I ran 13.3s - 13.4s @ 105 - 106 mph all day long (bone stock) in my 99 z28.

Just uninformed, ignorant owners. No different than an SS owner who thinks his car will take a Corvette b/c he "has the same engine".

Anyone who really gives a darn knows the 5th gen V6 Camaro will not run with a 4th gen SS.

Also a huge difference in torque. The LLT only has 278, doesn't the LS1 have 340 something?
