I've heard great things about the Random Tech exhaust... and, of course, evryone loves the Corsa... B&B Tri-Flow is another great one... if you dont mind the noise, the GMMG chambered exhaust is the best sounding one available, IMO
stay away from the Flowmaster... I had one and it sounded good, but it was a serious performance inhibitter.

i would say check out clubgp.com If you are interested in ANYTHING 3800 series engines, it is there, granted the forum is for grand prixs, but we use the same engine, so a lot of the performance parts and exhaust stuff will be the same. AT the very least you can check out the exhast section to see vids of other members setup's so you can see what sounds best to you......but a personal FYI from someone with a 3.8, beware the dreaded DRONE with custom exhaust, i dont mind so much, but i can be troublesome at times

If you're looking at just a "cat-back", then GMMG is a good choice. I'm considering it for my SS.
I changed the complete system on my SS, (see sig.) and I like the result. |

for price, power, and sound, you cant beat a magnaflow catback.

I've always been partial to Gibson. But that was truck cat backs. No idea if they are as good for Camaros.

I think Magnaflow and SLP are great options for stainless catbacks. The SLP is available with a resonator or a muffler. The Loud Mouth SLP (resonator) will rasp really bad if you plan to run long tubes headers, so be forewarned.
I run QTP long tubes with their high velocity merge collectors(HVMC.) I used to have mid-length MACs, then switched to QTP standard collectors, and have ended at their HVMCs. They are T304 stainless, 1 3/4" primaries, and are about the longest primary tube headers on the market. I use QTPs catd' Y-pipe but have replaced their cats' with Magnaflow cats' and changed the orientation a little bit for better ground clearance. I have a Borla adjustable catback and use QTPs QTEC (electric cutout) and the only thing I'll end-up changing is eventually fabb'ing up my own T304 Y-pipe, merge collector, and four-inch I-pipe. I love the system because with the cutout closed, there is little to no rasp and with it open, you could hear it a mile away. You'll spend close to $2000 for a set-up like this but it will last as long as the car and give you good power. I've made more than 360 rear wheel horse power with this setup with only an air box and a dyno tune. I have a stock long block and a big stall converter. There are a bunch of other header and catback manufacturers. It will pay to do some research. If you want to listen to sound bites, try ls1sounds.com.

I will deifinitly be consulting you when the time comes to buy my exhaust for the Maro.
Can you please define "long block"? I'm thinking this isn't the same as a crate motor long block vs short block. Thanks

If anything, adding the SLP L/T's after installing the Loudmouth only improved the sound, IMO. "rasp"???? |
