here, a BASE audi q5 is 6 thousand more than a 1SS, and the base q5 DOES NOT do 0-60 in 4.3, so i couldnt read the page you linked to, BUT, i highly doubt that a car of that size that does 4.3 0-60mph would be less than 30k USD. i havent seen many SUVs that can do that stock anyway...maybe 0-60kph...?

Got an English version of that site you could link? I'm sad to say that I don't get much out of knowing what the car's Utslapp is.

If you like German cars that are made in Mexico and have lots of spare time to service the car, then Audi/VW is for you!

Also I doubt it will be cheaper in the US. If it is I'm sure window glass is an upgrade option.

I think it will be quick, but fast.....Everyone talking about how fast 400hp is, what about weight, gearing and all the other factors involved. Anyone thinking 400hp is fast no matter what variables, this car will probably be very fast for them, but someone who knows that hp isn't everything, well my quess is it will be quick, but not fast, but capable of being very fast with the right mods. Which you should... considering my 8000 lb excursion was NOT fast and it had 400hp/torque. Pulled like a semi & pullin a trailer / boat didn't phase it one bit, but I certainly wouldn't call it fast...

And keep in mind, feeling fast is going to vary is very objective, and a lot more goes into the equation than just HP. Thankfully for most people the Camaro will feel fast, but for me it's not as fast as I was hoping for, but the ride I got was with 4 adults in the car so I'm hoping it will feel better out on my own. I've owned both more powerful cars, and lighter cars that were fast. I've also had cars that felt fast and were anything but, and very fast cars that felt calm & composed.

I'm guessing that due to it's weight it will not feel as fast as other 400-450 hp cars I've had, but that weight is also very nice for highway speeds.

If I had to dream my perfect blend for a daily driver fun car, it would be 3300 lbs, AWD (makes for tremendous launches!), a smaller displacement direct injection v8 with 550hp (maybe DOHC, look what it did for the V6), 2 door with a real back seat, and a 6spd DSG style tranny. That would be a brutal car you could live extremely comfortably with daily & love it every time you drove it. Now if we could just get that with 20 city, 30 hwy... Maybe in 5-10 more years, not that we'll be allowed to have 550hp then...

Slow For Me

My new Camaro is likely to seem slow to me, as does everything I drive now since I've been riding my modified Kawi ZX-14 which has been stripped of about 60 lbs. weight and has had 60 HP added to it.

That had nothing to do with your thread, but your question made me think of it. GAH! Give me that car!
I've heard this before.

It's probably because if he's already used to (and able to properly handle) a Z06, then the extra ?100? hp is not going to make as big of a difference seat of the pants as you would hope that extra ?$30,000 - $50,000? would get you. The car is built in every way it can be to be just that little bit better, it's an overall package. The Z06 is amazing! the ZR1 is just a bit more amazing in every way. That same $30,000 could have been spent on just the motor to get it some crazy power & then he'd be impressed, but he would not have had as well rounded of a car, and would probably still get lapped on a track day by a ZR1. I'd personally rather have a Z06 and an SS for a daily driver if I had the $ for both. For me it's more like an SS for me and eventually a G8 GT for the wife

One of the best tidbits I ever saw on Top Gear was their show on the Bugatti Veyron. Bugatti asked some F1 teams if they could use their wind tunnel to test, the F1 team said sorry, we don't go that fast. Also, they said that it only took ?350-500? hp to get to ?200-210?. It took the other 500-650 hp to get it to that last 30-40 mph.

That's why for most cars 250-300 hp gets you 14 sec traps, 425 gets you 13 sec, 500 gets 12, but to get down to the what, 4 seconds top fuel goes it takes ?8000?10,000? hp? The faster you go, the more it takes to go even faster.

When I first got my cobra, it FELT slow even though it was faster than my h/i/c/full bolt on 5.0, which felt MUCH faster.
