I am looking for a great camshaft for my 2010 SS (L99)

Hi

I want to change the stock camshaft of my L99 for a more powerfully one. I am not technically good in this things but maybe you guys could help me out what to put in. I attached already SLP Longtube Headers, SLP Xpipe, SLP Muffler delete kit for the SLP x Pipe and SLP Loudmouth I (P/N: 30213 + P/N: 30222 and P/N: 31211) to the car and I use a DiabloSport Custom tune. What would be a good camshaft that would give me more power?

Big thanks!!!

Are you wanting to go with a stall or keep the stock torque converter?

Hi Jeff!

Thanks for your answer!
I would like to keep the stock torque converter. How much Horses will I win if I would replace the Torque converter too or does it depend on the camshaft?

You will be limited to cams with less than 224* intake duration with the stock converter. The converter size goes up with camshaft size. What may be drive able to me might be a nightmare to you. What are you looking for in a cam?

Mine is 223/236 and drove well on the stock converter. Makes pretty good power under the curve

I would love to win more horsepower. What would be the most powerful camshaft for the stock converter?

I would go with a 219/235 cam so that you would retain a little flash to the stock converter.

Staying with the stock converter will limit you some what. You can get a mild cam that will still work well.

But if you're into drag racing, you'll want to match a good converter with your new cam (that's the best possible option).

I will stay with the stock converter and would be happy with a "mild" cam. What would be a powerful mild cam?

The cam I posted is the smallest shelf grind comp has for the rectangle port cylinder heads. I would say its mild lol.

What would be the difference in horspowers between 223/236 and 219/235 which I could use both if I understand it correct as both are smaller than 224*
