Thanks for the info. Now Trying to use the stock usb hookup in the armrest. I hooked a cable going from the back of the stock hookup to the usb plug on the back of my head unit I can see all the music and it's playing but I have no sound. Any recommendations?

Unfortunatly this will not work u have to get the USB adapter from Pioneer to make it work u have to use the USB and phone Jack connection to make it go through the speakers. That's all i have been able to fugue out. The factory USB will not work.

That could 1 of the difference between the AVIC-Z130 BT and the AVIC-Z140BH. The hardware is the same but the software is different. I have the AVIC-Z130BT and the usb plays the music thru my sound system ok. I am using a Sansa mp3 player.

I have the Kenwood 9990HD and it will play a thumb drive just fine thru the factory hub but when hooking up Ipod it only displays the content and plays it but no sound. My alpine INA900BT would do it thru USB only. Gonna have figure out something. I really don't want to take it to the glove box

On the Pioneer install, i took out the factory usb and ran the pioneer usb cable to that locacation. The Ipod/ITouch/IPhone cable plugs into this cable so every thing still pretty much sits in the center arm rest console.

Just talked to Kenwood and they said for the Ipod I will have to run the Ipod cable with the head phone jack to have sound. So I guess I will just hook up the usb side to the console for if I wanna use a thumb drive.
