Rpm after cai and vmax

Hello,
I installed a CAI brand cold air intake and have the lsa vmax throttle body. After installing I have noticed my rpm fluctuate between about 800-1200. I have only started the car once, and was kind of thinking the car may still be learning the new A/F ratios. I tried searching for this, but didn't seem to find anything. I don't hear any leaks, and the MAF should be installed correctly. Just wanted to see if this was normal in the beginning.
Thanks,
Travis

I have the same set up, and do experience the same from time to time mostly when cold. When it's warm it's steady. Probably wouldn't hurt to double check everything before and esp after driving a bit. I have about 1000 miles on the set up, it's a nice upgrade.

I will double check everything again. It was cold when I started it up, but let it run for a little while, but haven't taken it on a drive yet.

If you have not driven it yet its probably still trying to adjust fuel trims, especially if you did not disconnect the battery before installation like the instructions state. Dis-connecting the battery before install will allow your car to re-learn the new trims much faster. Hope that helps, thanks for choosing Cold Air Inductions Inc.! Oh, and post some pics of your install!

Mine does the same thing when cold, and I did disconnected the battery while installing the TB. It might have to do with the fact that there's more air coming in that what the stock tune was setup to receive. But it idles steady once the engine is warmed up.

I have the same setup, and haven't noticed any idol changes. I have noticed an increase in low end torque.

Installed the same thing CAI and vmax, I did however pull the Ecu fuse overnight and the car started right up and within 5min could really tell the difference.

I'd suggest double checking everything and pulling the Ecu fuse.

I have the CAI, Inc. CAI and VMAX. I have not had any idol issues. I didn't notice any fluctuation right after install, but I wasn't really paying attention to the tachometer.
