STILL waiting for a letter or On Star notification. My most recent vehicle diagnostic report was emailed on 08/12, and no mention.

Weird.

Same. My OnStar diagnostic hasn't received the recall yet. Only recall on the diagnostic is for airbag stickers.

I just drive the Car 2000 miles to Wyoming, and my knee was no where near the keys..

Girl here at work drives another Chevy and told me I need to get my ignition changed out, I explained the Camaros are different ?!?! are they not?

Wondering the same thing. Was talking to a Cruze owner, they separated his switchblade too, but they switched out his ignition, so it was a brand new key.

In my understanding they aren't replacing the Camaro ignitions, so in theory it should be the same key.

I received my August OnStar notification yesterday and it had the recall warning and today I received an e-mail from my dealer to come in for the recall but still no letter.

someone needs to make something to put in place of the old key to take up the space. I vote a knife blade.

Angrybird got pretty creative and made a allen wrench tool out of the empty space to use on the lid of his CAI intake. Ours still has the key and works just fine.

I have been thinking about fabricating a knife for my keyless fobs. Once I get the time Ill post it up for everyone to scrutinize.

If you park your car at the airport and take a flight, your key will be confiscated...an expensive learning experience.

I thought about that but as often as mine comes open in my pocket I would hate to either cut a hole in my pocket or even worse stab myself when I sat down.
Not a good thing in my opinion.

you should respond to your insurance company that GM has not notified anyone of this recall so there is no recall. You have not received notification from GM so the recall is not in effect yet. All they have done is given different keys to people who have bought new cars.

I bought mine on 7/25, and it still had the old keys. The dealer called later to say my "recall parts are in." I won't be hurrying . . . .

I just bought a 2014. I asked the dealer to have a switchblade key as I have on my 2010. His response was that the recall is mostly voluntary, that if I want a switchblade key he will make sure I get one with my new car. There is so much misinformation on this recall.
