I have the GMPP street axle back, and it does drone. But here's something to ponder...I added an Airaid CAI and most of my drone went away! I am speculating that the Airaid added just enough power that the throttle opening required to maintain the droning cruising speed was reduced and the Airaid changed the airflow just enough to change the harmonics in the exhaust system. The best I can determine drone is caused by a combination of rpm and load on the engine. It only takes a little load at 1600-1800 RPM to induce the drone. Take the load off and the drone decreases dramatically. At least it has in my case.

From what I am told is that the off road is the Borla S type...I have the S type. Drone exists, but it is not at all unbearable. I listen to my music around level 13ish and never hear it at all..

Now if I want the windows down and only want to hear the exhaust I can hear it, but does not bother me. If you buy mid pipes and remove the resonators you may have some issues, but I cant confirm or deny that...people who whine about the sound of drone from these systems either haven't driven in an older model muscle car (camaro or other). I completely understand it could be a headache with headers, but just flat axle back is no issue...

yes i agree.. my first exhaust was GMPP street. and at the time i didn't know what drone was i thought my exhaust was just loud at low rpms
didn't really bother me... i got a corsa cat back not because of drone, i just wanted a louder exhaust... my only issue with GMPP is its not loud for me

Yea the tone is great though with the Borla (and GMPP), but you are right...not quite loud enough for me. I will jump on Kooks LTs here soon to solve that problem...I just don't want it to be too drastically loud
