Hay 10 second Maggie guys what boost/pulley?
Apparently all cars are not the same as far as boost and pulley size for the faster cars. I assume it is due to the level of supporting mods like CAMs, fuel systems and other mods. After quite a bit of reading it does seem that my car is really really low on the boost verses pulley size with 9 psi on a 3.2 pulley. Pretty sure there is no belt slipping. We added a ZR1 3bar map sensor to be sure there was not something going on with the gauge. I am thinking about going down to a 3.10 pulley, below are my mods around this. Any ideas also what are you seeing on your cars as far as boost/pulley size?

With the overdriven cog drive in the rear, an Innovators West overdriven 8 rib set-up in the front, and a 3.2 pulley I make 17/18 psi. The problem is that during each shift I have belt slip so the boost drops down to 12 psi and subsequently I am loosing major HP.
I'd be worried about belt slip when you get down to a 3.1 pulley. At 10 psi we found that the rear pulley's were slipping. I'd putting my IW 8 rib set-up in the classifieds right now and looking to get into a 10 rib. It was awesome for up to 14ish psi but I got the jones for more boost!!!!!!!!!!!! My car made 684/690 at 5500. That's when the boost falls off. |

You got some belt slip I'd almost bet money on it with a 3.2. You also have a good cam and headers which is going to bring the boost down which isn't a bad thing cause your still getting the power of the pulley with less pressure. Think of boost as resistance in a way.

I'd have to agree about the belt slip. 9 psi with a 3.2 is on the low side even with a cam and headers. I was at 12.5 psi with a 3.2, LS3 conversion and 2" headers. That was with the 8 rib. It wasn't worth trying with the 6. |

I had no dust as well. The dyno told the tale of the belt slip. We just saw it again last week. |

From what I've been told, your in a safe zone right now. Any more boost and your gonna risk damaging your motor. I'd do all forged internals before adding anymore boost. IMO

The cog drive def eliminated the any rear slipping. The JRE super tensioner I'm sure has helped a ton but it all comes down to belt wrap vs how fast you are spinning the blower. He may have just enough slippage to lose a few psi in the higher rpm range. |

What did you see on the dyno when the belt slipped? When my 3.2 slipped the boost was abput 1 to 1.5 psi higher until 3000 RPM and then just crossed below the line of the 3.4 and stayed about 1 or so pounds lower up to redline. It was odd, but we did not see a sharp drop anywhere. We knew it had to be slippage due to the numbers however. I will email my tuner and see if I can get my dyno charts and post them.

Maybe Ted will see this or you can just email him for my dyno graph. I don't have it here. From what he described the lines, rwhp,tq, and boost climb in an uppward linear fashion then when you get to 5500 the drop off instantly and the boost drops down to 12 psi and then the other numbers decrease as well. |
