How to wire grille lighting?

Hey guys, I'm thinking about putting some LED lighting behind my grille, what would you tap into for the power/ground? Could you tap into the fog lights or the side markers?

Has anyone done the grille lighting?

Thanks!

If your getting a light from AAC, it will come with a remote. Run the power wire to the fuse box post, fuse it, ground really to any screw going into the frame or tap into any ground wire, ie, side marker etc.

soory i was saying where the grill area is is two fans that cool the engine and if any of the lights get loose they can be sucked in by the fans

Depends on how / when you want the lights to be lit? If for show use, you can grab power off the fuse box and mount a switch in the engine bay and ground it to your CAI box. This way you don't have to run wires into the car.

I bought a 12" blue led strip and i ran a wire from the power terminal under the hood (Under a red plastic cover) through a hole in the firewall located on the drivers side right behind the wheel well (you can find it if you feel around there, theres a rubber grommet in the hole) to a switch under the steering wheel. then from the switch i ran a wire back through that hole to the front. i attached the led strip with some wire to hold it up against the hood latch plate. i connected the wire coming from the switch to the positive on the led strip. then ran a wire from the negative on the led strip back through that same hole and grounded it in the drivers side fuse box on a bolt you will find in there... and thats all you have to do it was my first time wiring anything and it took less than an hour mainly because i had to reach up underneath dash to pull the wires through that hole. good luck! let me know if you have more questions.

If you don't want to use a ton of wire power the light under the hood with a fuse. Then run just one black wire inside that you can put to your switch and from switch to ground. I just don't like running hot wires through the firewall. There's many ways to do this. Use good conectors and shrink tubing can help. Double check every thing before adding power.

You can take the cover off that the hood latch is bolted to. Only a few screws and some push pins.
