If you want it in case your car is stolen, read up on that. I may be wrong, but it seems to me onstar is reluctant to actually do what they advertise when a car gets stolen.

Just cancelled mine before renewed. If the car was my daily driver and I put enough miles on it, I would do the basic....maybe.

They require police involvement to do it. They also will disable the car so it won't restart if they have a signal. But you can't just call them up as your car is driving down the road and have it shut down, they do it at the request of police when your car is in range. They do provide police with the location .

I kept it, but not the directions plan. I dropped down to their lower package, the Safe & Sound plan. I don't do enough driving to need their directions plan, and I'm planning on retrofitting the 2013 MyLink radio anyway.
I get discounts at my insurance provider for having OnStar, plus I like to play on the safe side of things. You never know when some freak think will happen and I'll be unable to reach my phone to call 911. My life is more important than saving $18.95/month. |
