Why are we rewarding kids w/ an expensive car to get good grades and show up to class?? If I didnt get good grades or triedd skipping school, I'd have to hang out with a wooden spoon or other object within reach of my mom. I really dont understand wasting 20-30k on a car for a kid just to entice them to do well in school. Staying off welfare and other government handouts should be enough to force kids to do well but then again, I come from a family that shockingly decided to WORK for everything they got instead of waiting for handouts etc.

According to statistics African Americans commit more crimes, so all of them must be bad people!

Do I think its stupid to give away a car for good attendance... yes, but not all kids are irresponsible and reckless.

That money could have gone to hiring another teacher for one year. Plus you'd have money left over. Teacher's don't even make that first year. Poor choice in my opinion to give a car away.

So your saying that everyone who goes to community college has bad grades? I went to community college, graduated this week with a degree in Respiratory Care. I have a very rewarding career that a COMMUNITY COLLEGE offered. I never had bad grades. I chose to go to a community college because I wanted to save money. Now I can work and put away money towards continuing my education. So why don't you take your bad grades and community college theory and shove it

Any how giving a car to a student for good grades is ridiculous. Think about the jealousy it can cause among other students. I think maybe an Ipad or laptop would suffice. Or a scholarship would be nice considering how much college costs.
