My poor 1LE :-/

Ever wondered how much it costs to replace and or repaint a 2014 2SS 1LE.
The answer is 12k
Driving on the highway doing about 80, I was about 25-30 feet behind the cars in front of me. Beautiful day, arm hanging sticking out, windows down. All of a sudden I was hit with a meteor shower of rocks, pebbles. They just repaved the bridge on the highway and they didn't do a good job of sweeping. Pulled over on the side of the road, Every where the wind touches my car now has beautiful pit marks, some pretty big dings even. Windshield, lights, rims, everything has to be replaced and repainted. Lucky me. Oh yeah. Better yet, the construction company and the state take no responsibility of this being it was the day before they did the paving. Say waaa. Anyways. Car been in shop for past two weeks, two more weeks to go and I get it back. Holy crap.
I attached a picture. The little white dots and the specks are pit marks.

Sorry to hear about your unfortunate incident. On the brighter side, you could end up with a better paint job than from the factory. I'd see if you could have the painter add a couple extra layers of clear and eliminate the orange peel.

Yeah insurance got it. But my insurance, not the construction co... which I'm sure that they will soon cancel me. Someone leaned on my 12 camaro and it costs 7k to fix. Lol yep for a lil butt dent on quarter panel.

And yes, she did have factory orange peel. That's a fact. And yes paying a lil extra for extra clear. Was thinking about doing a different paint, but gonna keep it factory, I was thinking more on the hood painted, but. Ahhhhh.. I liked her the way she was.

Progressive...but they are doing good by buying everything new. The lights I think we're 2k the fog lights I think are 1k rims are over 4k. And the 12k is just the first estimate, I'm sure it's gonna go up. Wishing I had some pull off zl1 rockers I can give them to paint while their at it. Lol

That's insane!!! I can't believe it costs that much though! If they drop you, I recommend statefarm! Good luck!

Ouch! I ran into a similar situation but got lucky, they're grinding to repave here and it sounds like someone is throwing fistfuls of gravel at the car. I only picked up a few chips in the gills, that I've since repaired and covered with xpel. I won't drive those roads until they're done. It's funny how my truck tires don't pick up a thing, I almost feel more sorry for people behind our Good Years... almost.
