Sorry for asking, but how is this throttle body different from others?

This throttle body is for the 2012 LFX motor, the 2012 motor is different than the 2010 & 2011 motor,

And to clarify, please... why exactly does my LFX need this new TB? Is the stock/original one defective?

For the same reason you have that aftermarket intake - improved flow.

I'm still surprised that even though there are no production units available that there is ZERO performance info on this product.
Before you could authorize even a limited production run, would you not have at least a prototype model tested? Would you make production units without this information? If so, are you nuts? Or just trying to raise capital first? Things to possibly ponder before throwing your money at something that does not even appear to exist yet.....

Read post #29 & 33 of this thread.

The original one isn't defective, the ported throttle body gives you better flow at lower rpm for better throttle response and is supposed to get rid of the dead spot/hesitation

It has been stated that testing has been done and the results were good.

Why the info hasn't been posted yet I don't know.

Thanks Gorilla. That's what I was wanting to know - I thought I had heard something about eliminating the "dead spot". That would be great.

And to me... a "dead spot" in the acceleration range is a defect. I doubt it was designed in (or am I wrong?). It should be a GM warranty fix, but I know it isn't and won't be.

The intial tests Pete Incaudo ( VMax, the genius behind these) asked we do not relase the dyno graphs yet....but it exceeded the LLT version even BEFORE the final pattern cuts were finalized.....and that will just be icing on the cake. We have a habit of not releasing until we have final repeatable documented results.....far to often I read "up to xxx hp/tq!" and that is an area most people dont care for....hype.

My thought is when the engineers designed this motor the dead spot wasn't meant to be.

Under easy accerlation it isn't as noticeable as it is under hard accerlation IMO.

I don't see where this would a warranty item IMO.
