Custom Single turbo kit hits 724/770
Well After breaking the trans out out shaft and selling the Procharger and all the parts I was going to sell the car. After getting it back from getting the trans fixed I remember how much I like the car. So I decided to build a single turbo kit for it. Started it on Monday and now it is in finally going back together. I just need to complete the fuel system for it tomorrow and get it on the rollers.
My goal is 700rwhp and 700rwtq on 10 psi. I dont mean a torque spike like fast lane (no offence) and power falling rapidly after 5000rpm. It will come on fast and hard and last all the way to redline. I have built many turbo kits and looked around to see whats avalible and nothing I've seen is worth buying. My kit and fuel system will make a 1000rwhp with a built motor witch is coming soon(Next week). I will post up final install picks and Dyno Graph's as soon as it gets off the rollers. 76mm turbo 38mm wastegate 50mm blowoff 27x16x4 intercooler Last edited by turboed2000; 11-15-2009 at 01:53 AM. |

You should upgrade to a FAST 102R + TB. What injectors are you running currently? Let me know if we can help you get some more hard parts to complete your build.

I used that exact same intercooler and saw fantastic results. Saw barely one pound pressure drop @ 16psi and the IATs didnt climb HALF as fast as the Pro-Charger piece that came with the kit.
P.S. Interested in what you are doing for a fuel system .... |

Thanks for the tips but I have the turbo stuff locked down. I use this intercooler alot and in the Las Vegas heat (110*) my intake temps on a full pass only go to the 130-135 range. Pressure drop is very minimal with this as well. My Procharger would climb to 235 at the end of a pass. As far as the turbo being to large, I dont think so. This exact turbo on my LS3 in my 69 GMC spooled faster than a Maggie and never stopped making power. I have built ALOT of turbo cars and all run perfect. I currently own 4 turbo cars built by my self and I hate lazy turbo's and ones that weez out. We will know on saturday, it's going to the rollers.

fuel system
So that resevoir tank is sealed right? (It is under 58psi at all times in theory)
The stock pump feeds in the top, the bottom line feeds the secondary pump and the middle line is the return from the regulator? I'm guessing that tank holds a gallon or so? Nice job! I saw the black LMR car in Memphis and he had something similar. It was an aluminum tank in the trunk feeding a Magna-Fuel 750 ... same principal I believe. |

It is good to actually see someone build and install there own turbo kit. That seems kind of rare on this site. What did you use for manifolds? Did you custom make them or is there some aftermarket ones out there?

The passenger side is the stock manifold witch feeds to the back of the custom made drivers side. This system works good and helps spool the turbo alot faster. Works very well up to 1000rwhp, maybe more.

There is the dyno graph on 10psi 14* of timing (safe) 10.40 afr and no large spikes. (Worlds most powerful LS3 Camaro) built in a small garage. Also if any one wants a kit built pm me for pricing. Build time is less than a week from start to finish tuned out the door.
