I saw this in my local paper today. It might be of interest to U.S. citizens who have had a DUI or other problem with the law trying to cross the border. Have you guys up north ever heard of this?

"Natalie Glister, a spokeswoman with Canada Border Services Agency, said her office couldn't provide a list of every criminal conviction that could bar someone from entering the country."

I hope I don't get denied entry for removing the tag on my mattress.

oh crappola.. hubby had a dui in 96..we went into Canada in 08 via Alaska on the yukon Trail though... now I am freaked out

Everybody with no front plate on ther car will get turned away.

No. Half of the states and Canadian provinces do not have front tags and I am sure border guards have more important things to do then keep track of it all. I don't have a front tag on my car (when I should) and have crossed back and forth many times.

Ontario requires plate "tags" (I'm guessing you're refering to renewal stickers) on the rear plate. We also have plates front and back but they won't turn anyone away for not having a front plate if your home state doesn't require one. If you do require one and have it in your front window however... I'm not sure what they would do. I doubt it would be a big deal though.
