After 10 days, she saved my life.
Traded in my 2000 WS6 with 100000 miles for a 2010 Camaro.
After 10 days of owning the CGM 2SS/RS, while driving into work at 1130pm, i was struck by a mass transit bus, that was making an illegal left turn, while traveling at 40-50 mph. I was able to self-extricate myself from the car with assistance of some bystanders. I sustained a fractured right arm, and severe trauma fractures in my right foot. along with minor cuts and bruises. I was fully restrained. I Will be having a 4+ hour surgery on Monday at the Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Currently unable to walk due to both breaks being on my right side. Cant use crutches. I will be laid up and unable to work for approx 8-12 weeks. I feel terrible for putting the stresses on my parents for having to take back in and nurse their 30 year old son back to health for 3-4 months. The 2SS/RS was hit by the front drivers corner of the bus in the area of the drivers side wheel, after an avoidance maneuver. The bus then struck another vehicle waiting at the light in the last picture, you can see it. THANK YOU CHEVY AND THE CAMARO ENGINEERING TEAM.... YOU SAVED MY LIFE. Amazing. It's great to see that you're looking at the outcome in a positive light. Keep your chin up.

Sad that you'll have to fight the entire Bus Driver's Union now, because they aren't going to admit their driver made a mistake--let alone did anything illegal. Hope you still have the great attitude when this ordeal is over.

I am glad Chevy chose to make the Camaro safer over being lightweight. Cars can always be made faster, but people can't be replaced

HOLY COW, MAN!
I'm glad you are here to type to us and let us know you are okay!!! You know...that WS6 sure ain't the safest one compared to the new Camaro. You are VERY lucky to be here with the injuries you have. Question.....did you leg bend the pedal over that far??? |

Car gave its life to save yours. With that said screw the car, your still here thats what matters. Dont think the outcome would have been very kind had you been in a older f-body or mustang.

Glad to hear you are okay. The transit company owes you a new Camaro.
