XM Radio not working

Bought my Camaro last year. Wanted to try XM in the car. I can listen to the free preview channel but they could never get it to connect for all the channels. We tried on 3 separate occasions with different operators all in different locations to avoid any interference from the miles of corn fields around me with no luck.(sarcasm) as i was told several times by XM operators that the signal is being blocked by something and it is my fault.
I do not want to take it to the dealer and I am not installing an aftermarket radio. Any suggestions?

Well even though you don't want to. I would bring it to the dealer should still be under a warranty of some kind. Could be the radio was swapped back and forth and there is an issue with xm finding the # or linking to it.

Also does your OnStar work since XM and OnStar use the same antenna? Could be the a loose or disconnected connection.

The warranty that would cover that is only for 3 years, way past that unless he purchased an extended warranty.

Thanks for the suggestions.
Figured the antenna was fine since it gets the XM preview and the radio has never been out. I knew the previous owner. I will have to try Onstar and see what it does.

Sounds like an XM issue on the activation if you can get the free channel. But dealing with a script reading tech support person in India sucks.

XM does a free thing every few months, maybe check their schedule and see if it works then. If it does, it is an activation or unit number issue, not antenna or something blocking the signal.
