Camaro5 Fest Predicament

So I'm in quite the predicament. I'm fairly new to the forum, but can't get away from it! I am expected to take delivery of my Camaro in February if all goes well. It's quite apparent that a lot of people make them selves known on this forum and would, no doubt, enjoy the event. I think the whole caravan thing would be awesome, and a great way to meet Camaro owners young and old. I’m quite young (21), and just don't know whether my short time lived here (so far) on the forum is enough to make the trip worth it. (I guess I'm one of those people who like to know people at the location I'm going) This trip would be a pretty big road trip for me, coming from MI, so I guess the question is, to go or not to go???

PS I'd also have to convince the GF to either go or let me go. That could be the toughest part!

All ok maybe most of the member are great people. As far as your gf, mine went with as a lot of other peoples did, she had a great time. I maybe going haven't made up my mind yet, hopefully soon.

Definitely worth it.

I'm a quite person, I don't post here much and I can feel uncomfortable in a group of strangers. I've never regretted going to a Camaro event as I've always had fun. I've found the Camaro enthusiasts are generally a great group of people.

I attended the announcement that the Camaro would be built, the Indy show Sept 2008, the Oshawa get together last month and many local events. I've only met interesting and fun people. My only regret is not attending this years national show in Tallmadge, OH.

Participating in a caravan of Camaros is fun. A caravan to the Camaro5 Fest would be a good opportunity to get to know a smaller group of Camaro enthusiasts before seeing the whole 300+ that may be there. If you decide to go, please be sure to check out this thread http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=49260 .

Come on down...it's the first official annual Camaro5 event so everyone will be getting to know everyone at the same time. You have about 5 months before the fest...just jump head first into this forum and you will meet plenty of great people

GO GO GO, don't even give it another thought. I personly have been in quite a few clubs like Camaro5 over the years, believe it or not, you WILL make life long friends, or you can. and the VERY BEST part, is meeting them in person.......I have made the long trips to go to events like this.......they are the blast of a lifetime. Memories you will never forget.

Drag the GF or leave her home, be a man. If you are able to go then go. It's a long trip for me but I will try to go depending on my work schedule and $ available. I have a lot of friends I could visit along the way. If there is any way I can do it, I will be there. It's a great opportunity to meet fellow Camaro owners and see first hand what mods they have made as well as make friends you can keep forever.

Gloves, I see you took PQ's suggestion with the Grin Smiley. And of course I say that with the utmost of respect... really. But you can still....

HA! At 21 you would have had to spray me with a fire hose to stop me from taking a road trip in a brand new car that had 1/2 the sex appeal of the new Camaro.

It's a no brainer, if you have the time and the means to go, then GO. Take I65 Stop off in Louisville on your way down, I'd be happy to caravan with you.

Can't help you on the girlfriend question; didn't understand 'em then, don't understand 'em now.

Are you thinking of driving from Oregon? Now THAT is a road trip. What is it, 20/25 hours to Georgia?

I'm trying to get the time off work in order to go myself but there are a few others ahead of me in seniority that have requested that week. I live in Cali and it's a 40 hour drive one way for me. Approx. 2,630 miles. If I am goona try to go then you should definitely from MI.
