OEM differential bushings
Just bought my 2010 ss/rs and found out that the differential bushings are
completely worn out. I'm having a hard time finding new oem ones. Talked to a parts guy that said gm only sells those as a whole package with the differential itself. Does anyone have a part number i can search with? All i find when googling is poly aftermarket ones. I want the oem ones because i aim to daily the car. |

Curious why you want OEM? That's one of the hardest suspension mods to do on this car, might as well upgrade.

and I'm sure it will be easier to install poly bushings than factory.

Hendrix offset differential bushings! Eliminate wheel hop and not worry about busting axles, especially if you ever lower it.

I thought I read that these Were closer to stock then others, i am assuming he doesn't want to go with one of the more common bushings because of the NVH .
I probably will go with the Hendrix when the time comes to replace them, I am just worried about the NVH myself. https://whitelineperformance.com/pro...56-bushing-kit

They are hard so the car crashes and is generally shit to drive in traffic. they squeak & they wear out really fast. Also they are hard to install since you have to remove the steel jackets from the oem. Poly might be better if you track or drag race the car. But for everyday driving oem seems far superior. Exept i can't find the part |

It is, but polys slide right in and I can only imagine that putting the factory bushings back would require you put them in the freezer overnight and beat them in, or press them in if you have a press.

The OEM Bushings are not easy to remove. I showed what I did to remove mine at the link below.
https://www.camaro5.com/forums/showt...=598332&page=2 The aftermarket bushings that I used transmit a little more vibration and seem a little firmer, but I am happy with them. |

I’ve never had problems with poly bushings, but my tolerance is likely higher than most. With my 5th Gen I’ve skipped poly and am all solid aluminum or rod ends. I love how connected it feels.

You might be better off buying a lightly used SS diff.

Found out now that GM only sells the oem bushes as a part of the whole diff case. So i decided to go with poly bushings instead. Hopefully they are ok. Seems like some of you are happy with them anyway. |

I have replaced the struts twice and tired of footing the bill. Only 1 went out this time, but it has the oil caked on everywhere in the wheel well. The cradle was actually pretty easy. However, I couldn't bring myself to doing the differential. I am going to be looking for a shop to do those soon. |
