I am starting to feel like I am cursed to have bad luck with this car. I caught a parking lot pig under the front fascia, someone dinged my driver side door (fixed, but now a wasted $300), now a hit and run on the driver door and rear q-panel.

05JUL11. At the dealer waiting for the estimate...

**UPDATE**

…and the total estimate is: $3200.00. Ouch. Luckily my uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage has a $200.0 deductible. Better than full price.

06JUL11. Located the driver that hit my car. He confessed under a bit of pressure. His insurance company will now be paying for my repairs. Justice.

18JUL11. I dropped the car off at the dealer to adjust the ride height. We noticed that it looked odd when the installation was complete at MTI, but I was on a tight timeline and could not let them readdress it. I measured all four corners with 1/8 tank of fuel and all tires at 36.0 PSI cold, from the bottom of the rim, through the center cap, to the tallest point on the fender, using a metric tape. I measured three times to eliminate discrepancies. The results were:

LF: 650mm
RF: 669mm
LR: 652mm
RR: 650mm

+/- 2mm is ok, I would think, but 19mm is way off.

I spoke with Pfadt's tech service department on the 15th, and they agreed that 19mm was too much difference, especially considering that is very noticeable to the naked eye.

James Corlew's service department has corrected and realigned the car; I pick it up next Monday when I get back in town.

While I was talking to the Pfadt representative, I asked about the resonation/vibration in the cabin at ~12k and ~18k RPM. He thought that it was likely due to the engine mounts and told me that I could expect that to settle down over the first 500-1000miles or so. Additionally, city driving would be better for break in than highway; I am probably a 75% city driver on the car. I have about 450-500 on it since the installation, so stay tuned gentle reader!

Thanks. I am debating having the stripes painted on and exteniding them over the spoiler (rear) and past the mail slot (front). The deck is going to get repainted anyhow to blend/match the rear quarter, and I'm going to have the fascia painted to fix a few stone chips and where I caught a parking pig underneath. so really I would only add labor and paint to the hood and paint to the rear. They quoted me ~700-900 for the stripes (I cannot remember exactly). Then I would get the clear bra to save my front end from stones.

That would come out of the diminished value check, so no out of pocket cost to me at all.

AFM Resonation

Video of the AFM resonation in the passenger cab. Hopefully this works; I am a YouTube virgin! Sorry for the length, the sound is around the 1:21 mark. It is hard to hear.

08AUG11. I dropped off the car for repair from the hit and run. Two weeks is the time estimate. I am also having them paint my stripes instead of putting the vinyl back on! I cannot wait to get it back.

Awesome! Waiting for a quote on painting my car with the stripes....might cost a little more but want them to be as long as the stripes in the move.

You sticking with Rally Yellow?
