Future Camaro with new CTS-V motor

Hey all -

Thought you'd like to know some information from a dealer release regarding the new CTS-V since many of us think this motor will make it's way into a future Camaro.

0-60 in 3.9 Seconds.

That CTS-V must be quite a car! Kudos to Cadillac.

Thats actually a little dissapointing. My sister has a 2004 Cadillac CTS V with a the stock 6.0 V8 and noting done but the exhust and it does 0-60 in 4.0. its runnin a little over 400HP. the new CTS has 550 and a .10 difference?? i still will be very very happy if they put this in a camaro tho haha.

It is hard to launch a 550hp car without smoking the tires.

This is not a correct figure. The new Corvette C6 LS3 has 436 HP and is much lighter then the 2004 CTV 6.0 with 400 is and it doesn't even go 4.0 0-60. The vette is like 4.1-4.3

The 2004 CTSV was more like 4.9-5.1

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...omparison.html

The new CTSV will be a full second faster 0-60 and about a second and a half faster through the quarter. It is by no means dissapointing!

I don't think you are rude, you just got the wrong idea. I was just saying that because of the 0-60 comment. I would take a 1000hp car if I could get one.

W/ a little practice it's not hard at all.. It took me a while to hook 800 hp but with the right skins, PSI, and launch technique you can do it!!
