Need advice please
I have already talked to the dealer about the rub makes on the canvas back in June of 2011. Car was bought in April.
They did the cable relocation and tape thing and I would say it hasn't gotten any worse since. Dealer said they would replace the canvas , so I asked if I could wait on that till the end of the warranty to give gm time to get a proper fix. Only other issues are some wind noise from back windows and rattles with the top on rough roads. My question is ; Should I push for a whole new 2013 frame and top or just let them do the canvas. Push for the whole frame, but i doubt you will get it. Worth a try!

If you get a whole new frame please tell me where. My dealer told me I should get a whole new mechanism, but GM would only let them do the canvas. They told me to keep bringing it back and they would replace it every year until GM caved. At least they did a good job fixing the mistakes the trim shop made.

That's their current position. I was told if it repeats THEN they would consider a new mechanism. BUT I was also told there was no way to order the "older style" mechanism and the newer mechanism does not transpose (2013 and up). The only way to get the older version is in parts.
BUT my mechanical background and intuitive thinking doubts a lot of that, lol. |
