Metra dash kit

How easy is the Metra kit to install? I might have to trash the Scosche kit. I have a problem with a dead battery every once in a while. 3 times since March.

It installs relatively the same might even be a little easier, with better directions.

Never mind it does not need any thing for Onstar to work

It will work fine with a fark harness or stock speakers and stock amp. Gets a little tricky when you run all new wires, speakers and amp. I used my center speaker tapped in to the front left output of kit harness before it hooked into factory harness. On the scosche kit I added an eight ohm resistor to the postive speaker wire to lower the volume. Metra kit should be able to use the black/yellow wire to adjust volume per directions. With schosche kit I get chimes, backup chimes, and blinkers through built in speaker on backside of touch screen, Onstarr and factory Bluetooth comes through center speaker.

Can I add the Metra Dash kit to the ZL1? Won't it mess up the HUD on it or everything will be the same?

I believe the zl1 and all camaros so far use the same dash kits. Will not mess up HUD just will not show song title.

I cannot get OnStar to work, so I need the 12K ohms resistor, so where the heck do I put that? Everything else works but Onstar, PTT and Mute button from the steering wheel.
