The console gauges are kinda misleading as to actual readings because they only show a few numerical graduations each. Like the voltmeter. Goes from I believe 6 to 12 to 19, all being equal distance apart. The temp gauge is graduated correctly and easily but the others are just odd.
I've had my 2SS for about a month. Normally she is tucked into my garage and at a start up temp around 55 degrees F. This last week its been forced to sit outside my In-laws garage. Started it up today at around 40 degrees F and it jumped to 60 psi and eventually dropped to 25. I attributed it to starting cold like Coyotekiller referenced.

I know for a fact it was a constant 30 psi at idle for the first couple weeks. After my first oil change at 900 miles (Mobil 1 with Amsoil filter), she now runs at 25 psi at idle. I did notice that after I dropped the oil and filled it with a little over 8 quarts, that from the factory they only had roughly 7 quarts in her (I also checked the dipstick religiously the first couple weeks).

Yea my 12' LS3 did the same new was at 30 and now at 2900 mi it is 25 or so. If you do not like low oil pressure you will hate the new motors comming out. They have a oil pumps that drop way down at idle and under light loads all the way to 10 psi or less. Its to save gas oil plumps take a lot of power to move that much oil at high pressure.

Hi guys found this thread concerned a little about hot idle oil pressure with my new 2013 SS LS3. Its just above first tick at hot temp at idle like the original poster.

I had the same experience as BLU BY U, my pressure after the first oil change (~500 miles) dropped to just above the first tick from previously being just under 30.

An interesting thing happened today. My oil pressure went up to just under 30 today again. The only thing I did differently was rev the motor to 5000 rpm for the first time (not really intending to). Anyone else see this pattern? I thought maybe a valve in the filter (AC PF48) or engine bypass may have been stuck.

There are no valves in the filter. There is nothing wrong with your engine, just have a loose nut behind the wheel lol

If this issue really concerns you, check to make sure your oil level is correct on the dipstick. If that's fine, then take it to the dealer and let them worry about it.

Changed my oil today have a 2013 2LT/RS V-6 camaro, goal was to rid of break-in oil. Changed to full Synthetic (Kendal) from Firestone has done me well. When I start it Up and get on it a bit my oil pressure is maxed reading, normal?

There is a bypass and anti-drain back valve in the filter - ac pf48. The weird thing I was pointing out was that the idle pressure is up some after a burst to 5000 rpm.

Believe it or not that is what GM suggested doing. Run it up to 5,000rpm and let off, this sometimes makes the spring in the oil pump come unstuck...
