GT500's are a good bang for the buck and easy to get crazy power out of. garagelogic, does your current setup run 11's? Can you get into the 10's with your smaller pullies?

I'm a fan of all fast cars mostly American. Supras and Skylines get my respect when necessary and the same goes for gt500's but I'm still a Chevy Camaro guy to the core
My car has run a personal best of 10.76@133mph. That was with the 2 7/8 pulley installed and running VP109 unleaded race fuel in the tank. While I did not need to run that kind of fuel, I always like to err on the side of caution when I am at the track.

This pass was made on Mickey Thompson 265/40-18 drag radials, with a race weight of 4080lbs (that includes me in the car). I believe it could go even faster with the same pulley in place if I were to change out the road race suspension (front and rear coilovers, bigger sway bars, etc.) that is under the car now for a setup that does a better job of weight transfer at the drag strip.

Nothing wrong with being a hardcore Camaro guy. My best friend has been one since I have know him. I like them too, which is why I plan to eventually have one in the garage next to the GT500.

What was your 60'? The Evolution car trapped higher with less RWHP. What was your elevation?

1.72 60ft, and the track was Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green (529ft). There are way too many factors involved to try an do a car-to-car comparison. I run on the canned tune that KB sent with the kit, while Evolution runs what I am sure is a more dialed-in tune and IIRC correctly, the Evolution car has less weight than I do.

I don't hate Shelby, I just wish that they left it soley an SVT Cobra. Perhaps they could just ship it to Las Vegas to get the Shelby treatment like the Shelby GT/KR/SS. I guess the Shelby aspect probably promotes the car better though.

No doubt about it. look at the difference in relative 'popularity' between the 03-04 Cobra and the GT500, there is no comparison. Arguably part of this stems from the fact that the GT500 is, in both 2005+ and 2010+ guise, a better car. But, to some extent this also tells us that the 'name' still matters, but then we probably all knew that already. Would people be so enamored with the Porsche 911 if it were a Hyundai or Toyota 911 instead.

This is neat, is this the new 5.0, and how much boost will be acceptable on the 5.0?
