It allows the exhaust to cut out right behind the cats. They move on an actuator system (this allows you to hit a button in the car and open and close them) the result is that it is wicked loud when full open WOT. You can look up some videos but I can tell you that they do it no justice. THEY'RE AWSOME

Yes, you cut out a small section and add this in. It is definatly deep, this is straight engine sound, no resinators, mufflers, etc..

I just installed a set on my 2010 SS/RS. Only other mods i have are an CAI intake, Solo Hi Flows and Dynamax axel backs. There is not a video out there I have seen and I checked alot, that can do the sound justice.. need to hear them in person for yourself.. just old school hot rod loud.. or anywhere in between.. Can't stop playing with the button.. 4k RPM and above is just, and I haven't used this term in years.. Way Cool.. They do make me beat the car more than I would normally just so I can hear the sound they make.. but the smile they bring is worth it.. their expensive but top quality and you can pretty much set them on the fly to any exhaust sound you want .. stock to NHRA..

I heard someone dissatisfied with the mount of the "button" and the fact that it's a poor fit under the seat. Was this an issue of the individual installer?

I want to do this so bad, and I think it'll bring me more smiles than a muffler delete ... but I don't want to deal with finicky electronics and cheap components.

There is no issue with the mount location. Early on it was me who discovered that if you lift the seat the mechanism rubbed the switch plate. It still worked even then but now it clears 100%. Slight design mod they did.
The switch works perfectly.

You're going to LOVE this system.

PQ is right.. There is nothing wrong with the electronics or switch plate.. I did alot of research before I went for it.. Guy named Canadian Camaro did a great DIY on the install. In the section on the switch mount he showed a plastic retangular switch plate coming with the kit.. I expected to get this one in the kit.. then another guy named SSdude showed a mod he did to the plate, cutting it down to an L shape for a better fit.. low and behold, my kit came with this L shaped plate.. Someone was watching these forums. Really you could mount the switch just about anywhere you might want.. I was gonna relocate mine at some point but might not now as it works fine where it's at... If you get these you or your ears won't be sorry..
