I'm very interested in this kit too, I have the funds ready I just need to make sure this is the best option for me. Looks to be a torque monster! I emailed IPS today about it just some questions about it. I plan on doing the install myself and doing a mail order tune I guess(I'd rather have it dyno tuned)

This seems to be the best way to go and seems to be room to grow later with forged rods/10.5pistons and more fuel.. if I could find someone to tune it.

I'd like to maybe take one more trip through Colorado before the transformation but we'll see.. I'm chomping at the bits to go FI!

So today I was playing around with the car a little, and punched it to an accidental redline in first gear, the paddle shifters response was late, this torqued the car a little too much, the car went whack, the check engine light starting flashing, the service stabilitrack came on, and I immediately pulled over. When I pulled over I shut the car off, popped the hood and checked to see what was up(had no idea what happened). So I turned the car back on and drove, and while shifting, the car seemed fine, but until it started downshifting itself, it almost seemed torqued (almost like your dumping the clutch when you shift in a manual). I brought it back to my house, and let it sit for a little, and about 15 minutes later took it out for a spin and everything seemed alright. I wanted to make sure everything was fine so I took it on the highway (for higher RPM pulls). I did third gear pulls and around 6000 rpms the car starts to make almost a clacking noise which obviously shouldn't be there. Here's a video below of it if anyone has any ideas. Pretty upsetting, not even two months I've had these turbos and there's already issues.

Take the intake off the turbo and check the blades for any excessive play. Also check you BOV and wastegate for anything lose.

Drove the car again today, and no noises, nothing it seemed normal, I even pushed it a little and everything seemed fine. I popped the hood to check for any noises and this caught my attention. Either the piping is loose or I blew something. I have no clue I'm no mechanic. Any suggestions?

Could be vacuum leak somewhere? Also is that an RX catch can, the drain on the catch can could be open? Check to see if its turned all the way by turning the valve to the left, the drain will be open if the valve is touching the can(turn left to close, turn right to open).

I suggest getting under the car and checking all pipes and fittings for anything loose. It's as simple as looking and shaking everything. Also make sure you heat shield under the car isn't loose or have anything trapped on it.

Man that sucks, hopefully it's something simple like a failed catch can or vacuum leak. It def sounds like a vacuum leak..

I really want to buy this kit i just have a few worries about it.. mostly the business side of IPS. I've heard they are very hard to get in touch with after they've sold you the kit. Like not returning phone calls and emails. Which could be a problem when your 15-20 hours away. Hopefully thats not the case.

Sorry not trying to thread jack but have you been happy with IPS as a shop and ccommunication wise?

Looked at the video again with my headphones on. It's most likely the catch can. I had the same problem with my RX can. It would hiss all the time leading me to think my intake or hoses were leaking air. Also at times the inner junk of what the can is made of would rattle loudly. I even made a DIY in the bolt on section on how to properly clean the RX can with a air hose thinking it would help. So finally the fix was trashing the RX can and buying a Mighty Mouse can with boost value. After installing the MM can and removing the RX breather all the noises stopped and the problem I so had with the breather some how letting engine gases into the cabin (even with the vent closed) stopped. Car runs great after removing that one can and breather. Others will tell you about the breather and can problems also. So if you know how disconnect the can and hook everything thing up like oem and just plug the cleanside. And you will see that the can is the problem.

I have the same MM Catch Can; which way do you twist to open or close it? I just want to make sure I haven't left it open this whole time I have had it, as last time I checked for oil after 2 weeks of having it on, nothing came out. I think I twist the nozzle downward to close it.
