Electricity usage - Is this normal i Texas?

Hi,

I just got a nice summary emailed to me from my electricity company, Source.
It included a summary of my usage the last 2 weeks and I have no idea if I am high, or if I am low, or just normal?

It is an apartment with 1 bedroom, 1 bath, top floor (3 stories), I use the A/C very selectively. I turn it on maybe 2-3 hours before I go to sleep... Some days I have it off all the time.

About me:
- I have a dish washing machine that I use maybe 3 times a week
- I have a washer and dryer that I tend to use up to 2 times a week
- I have a TV that is always on basically
- A small home server that is on 24/7 with an Intel CPU in it
- A WIFI router always on
- A hardware firewall always on
- One more computer is typically used a few hours each day, but it is a laptop so it is not always hooked up to electricity either.
- I live alone (one person household)

These are the numbers:

Quote:
You used 115 kWh last week, which is 5 kWh lower than your previous week's usage of 120 kWh.

What do you guys say? Normal? Not normal?

Drives 2014 ZL1, worries about electricity in a one bedroom apartment

I just had to go there. Actually, it sounds like you are doing everything you can to keep it low. So it seems like it is what it is.

Your useage sounds about right for what you have described.

My utility uses "smart meters" they provide readout every 15 minutes and daily summaries from their web site.

Suffice it to say, the load varies a lot!

My house is ~2600 sq ft, wife is home all day. During the winter useage is about 30 kw/day, during the summer runs about 60-70 kw/day. A big hitter in the summer is a pool pump (1/2 or 3/4 hp motor) that runs 12 hours a day plus AC.

I have a 1,600sqft single story house and I use on average 800kw/h I have electric forced air a/c gas furnace for heat (but the fans are all electric) I have 3 PCs I use regularly normally I only turn on what I will regularly use but most of the time they are all on just not lately. And I don't like to be hot or cold so I tend to use the a/c or heat often.

I also have a PC shop in my garage but that PC is not running unless I'm using it and its almost always turned off; when it gets really really hot I use a free standing a/c to cool down the office with the 3 PCs as needed.

That sounds about right. I live in a similar situation, one bedroom apartment, and use 60 to 75 kWh per week. That's with doing laundry (2-3 loads) once per week. If I don't use the washer/dryer within the 7-day period, I use 35-40 kWh.
